The plating range to the roll is usually indicated in the drawing. However there seems to be unexpectedly many drawings that have less clear indication of plating range.
For instance, there are cases of the uncertain drawing which indicate the plating range demanding whole body R portion or including side face of the roll or to the shaft as well. We have witnessed the case of trouble occurrence of the delivery of the roll plated whole body R portion.

Plating rage can roughly be classified into 4 groups. (1): up-to main body R portion, (2): up-to outer cylinder plate thickness of main body out-side, (3): up-to the root of shaft of side face, (4): include shaft. The most desirable indication is to clearly distinguish (1) through (4). Depending upon the indication of range, work frequency, and delivery time may differ, so, if there is no clear comprehension of the range of plating, nobody can give definite answer. If the drawing has the clear indication of plating range in it, there arise no discrepancy between the range that designer demand and product plating range to be delivered.
